Senior Tax Expert (International Tax Planning and Investment) (m/f/d) at Allianz SE Vollzeit
Who will you join?
The Group Tax – International Tax Planning & Investments team plays a pivotal role in shaping Allianz's global tax strategy. We are responsible for:
- Ensuring robust tax governance across all international operations (insurance and asset management), including defining, implementing, and continuously enhancing global tax standards and frameworks across the Allianz Group
- Leading tax structuring and lifecycle oversight of investments – from acquisition through holding to exit – including compliance, reporting, and audit support
- Driving tax planning and value optimization initiatives, aligned with Group financial objectives and capital efficiency
How can you make an impact?
A. Leadership of Transactions and Investment Structure:
- Drive the tax structuring, coordination, and execution of acquisitions, divestments, restructurings in complex international environment, ensuring tax considerations are embedded at the core of strategic decision process and aligned with tax strategy and governance standards
- Take end-to-end ownership of tax workstreams in transactions, orchestrating collaboration with local tax functions, asset managers, and external advisors
- Shape and approve the design of new investment structures and platforms for alternative investments
- Act as a key contributor to Group approval processes, providing clear, decision-oriented tax recommendations to senior stakeholders and committees
B. (Investment) Tax Planning:
- Design, drive, and implement tax planning and restructuring initiatives to optimize effective tax rate (ETR)/cash. This includes current and deferred taxes as well as impact on global minimum taxation
- Proactively identify and execute value creation opportunities, including safeguarding and optimizing tax attributes and capital-efficient structuring
- Anticipate and respond to global tax developments, ensuring timely adaptation of investment strategies and structures to maintain competitiveness and compliance
C. Risk Management:
- Identification, assessment, and mitigation of tax risks in relation to complex international, cross-border matters and investment activities
- Support tax audits, controversy management, ensuring consistent and robust representation of Group positions
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in business administration, economics, taxation, or law
- Certified tax advisor
- 5+ years professional experience as tax advisor or inhouse tax manager
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge in SAP R3 / S4 Hana and MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert knowledge in national and international taxes (as well as Global Minimum Taxation), ideally with specific focus on investment structures
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Experience with AI solutions and automatization of tax processes
- Highly motivated team player taking ownership, driving initiatives end-to-end, and consistently delivering results with a strong sense of accountability
- Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
