Legal Counsel Vollzeit NEW
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be a key member of Blacklane's legal team. This person will serve as a business-oriented advisor, counseling on issues of importance to the company, including being a key partner to the General Counsel in setting and implementing Blacklane's overall go-to-market and legal and regulatory compliance strategy. The successful candidate will bring a results-oriented, practical and business-minded focus, with sophisticated judgment and the leadership skills necessary to drive both legal and business strategy.
YOUR CHALLENGE:
- Serve as a core member of and trusted advisor to the General Counsel and other members of the executive leadership, helping align legal, regulatory and go-to-market priorities with Blacklane's strategic and commercial objectives.
- Serve as product counsel, advising on legal compliance, product design, go-to-market strategies and terms and conditions. Partner closely with commercial, marketing, operations and product teams to structure and execute compliant go-to-market initiatives (including pricing, positioning, partnerships and campaigns) across key markets.
- Provide clear, timely advice to business, product and tech teams on commercial, regulatory, consumer protection and other relevant legal issues, including managing pre-litigation disputes where needed.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial and technology agreements.
- Develop and implement scalable legal tools and processes, including playbooks, templates, fallback positions, and training materials to support a growing, global business.
- Oversee regulatory compliance matters, including managing regulatory relationships and interfacing with key regulators, as needed. Help design, implement and maintain Blacklane's global regulatory compliance framework for transportation and mobility services, including anticipating for regulatory change and embedding compliance into go-to-market and product rollouts.
- Manage and interface with outside counsel, including responsibility for matter scoping and budget management.
ABOUT YOU:
- Admission to practice law in an EU member state or membership in a U.S. state bar, achieved with excellent results.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, ideally obtained in a well-regarded, international firm or in-house environment.
- Ability to provide legal and regulatory guidance on transportation matters and go-to market strategies, proactively identifying associated risks, recommending mitigation strategies, and documenting advice for attorneys and non-attorneys.
- Ability to thrive in an environment of change and ambiguity in the law, and to translate regulatory and legal uncertainty into clear, practical guidance for business stakeholders.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively managing conflicting priorities.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Eager to learn new technologies and ideas.
- Comfortable in navigating complicated and nuanced issues, and in balancing risk with commercial and strategic objectives.
