We are looking for a talented lawyer to support our growing marketplace business as part of the Amazon Legal Department in Germany. You will be in charge of working with international business partners on a broad range of legal matters across the DACH region including eCommerce, litigation, consumer protection, compliance and regulatory matters and prepare and drive strategic decisions in a complex legal environment. You will need great judgment and common sense and the ability to find pragmatic solutions in an ambiguous environment. As Corporate Counsel, you will work directly with business teams, providing day-to-day advice, serving as lead counsel on new innovative programs and business models, analyze new legislation, handle litigation and managing contacts with authorities. You will be part of a broader team and work closely with our business lawyers across Europe.
Key job responsibilities
• tProviding legal advice on a wide range of topics including general eCommerce, litigation, consumer protection, competition, compliance and regulatory matters
• tDay-to-day interaction with business clients, business lawyers and tech-teams;
• tOutside counsel management;
• tHiring, training and mentoring of others.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding academic qualification.
– At least 5 year's post-qualification legal experience with international law firm or in-house experience.
– Strong commercial background and understanding.
– Excellent English and German language skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box.
– Great business judgment especially in ambiguous situations
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as business partner to internal clients.
– Ability to prioritize and deliver projects in time in a fast-moving environment.
– Familiarity with online services and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate.
– Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.
– International study experience (LL.M. or comparable) and/or working experience in international law firm or in-house
