Our client is seeking a Tax Manager / Senior Manager (Steuerberater) to join their Global Mobility team, supporting international clients with complex cross-border tax matters.
This role sits within a highly international environment and offers the opportunity to work closely with globally mobile employees, senior stakeholders, and multinational organisations.
Key Responsibilities as Tax Manager
- Review and approve tax returns for globally mobile employees
- Advise clients on international tax planning, payroll tax, and social security matters
- Provide guidance on assignment structures, tax treaties, and expatriate benefits
- Advise employees on tax equalisation and international tax obligations
- Analyse compensation and payroll data to optimise tax outcomes
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on mobility-related tax matters
- Stay up to date with international tax developments and share insights with clients
Additional Responsibilities at Senior Manager Level
- Manage more complex and higher-value client portfolios
- Take a leading role in client relationship management and business development
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Lead, mentor, and develop Managers, Consultants, and Senior Consultants
- Provide strategic input on client engagements and delivery approach
Requirements
- Qualified German Steuerberater (StB)
- Fluent in German and English
- Strong client-facing and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
- Leadership experience required for Senior Manager level
- Commercial mindset and ability to operate in an international environment
