Patent Attorney (f/m/x) Vollzeit
Your Role
As an expert in patent law matters, you will be responsible for the business area of a ZEISS division and advise colleagues on business decisions in the field of intellectual property. In doing so, you will take on the following tasks
- managing the related grant procedures before the IP offices in close cooperation with the patent attorneys involved in Germany and abroad, and in some cases conducting them yourself
- evaluating third party rights and defending against them by conducting and managing opposition procedures before the EPO and the DPMA
- advising the supervised development divisions on third party property rights and working towards their appropriate consideration
- enforcing own IP rights against third parties using the legal actions available for this purpose at home and abroad
- drawing up contracts in the field of intellectual property rights and conducting contract negotiations

Your Profile
- successfully completed technical or scientific studies (knowledge in the field of optics is an advantage)
- admission as European Patent Attorney (or about to obtain it)
- first relevant professional experience in connection with technical intellectual property rights
- Ideally, knowledge and experience of the particularities of foreign patent systems, in particular those of the USA and PR China .
- a working method characterized by precision and a high degree of abstraction, a sense of responsibility and excellent communication skills
- the ability to present complex technical and legal issues in an understandable and convincing manner in German and English
- a very good knowledge of German and English at language level C (European Framework of Reference) is required for your daily work
